Hi

Took my DD to play in the communal garden of the estate where I live and we saw this on the floor

Looks like it is either an orange or an apple (I can't tell!) and has loads of eggs in it??

Any idea what it is? Curiosity is killing me!

Is it a dried up passion fruit?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 04/09/2020 17:24

It’s a passion fruit isn’t it?

Nookable · 04/09/2020 17:25

Some kind of fruit? The black bits look like seeds.

Balaur · 04/09/2020 17:25

Looks like a toadstool with the devils spawn in it.

Balaur · 04/09/2020 17:26

Actuslly, It's got a sticker on the side, so yeah, passionfruit I reckon.

Sunbird24 · 04/09/2020 17:27

It’s a granadilla - yes it’s a member of the passion fruit family!

PickAChew · 04/09/2020 17:28

Granadilla - related to passion fruit

I think its a form of blue green algae- nostoc algae. Can be found in grass

Bluntness100 · 04/09/2020 17:29

It’s a form of mushroom that something’s been at.

dementedpixie · 04/09/2020 17:31

Or maybe what the others said!

Branleuse · 04/09/2020 17:32

Passion fruit, one of the orange non-tasty ones from the passiflora you get in gardens

WestendVBroadway · 04/09/2020 18:18

Well, I am not surprised that it wasn't eaten, looks rank!

Bubbaella · 04/09/2020 19:16

That’s definitely a passion fruit

BooseysMom · 04/09/2020 19:20

It looks like woodlice or slugs are on it.
I love mumsnet!

WithTheJonses · 04/09/2020 19:43
