I have just watched the Jewel in the Crown, from his youth. Very watchable!

Yes, I thought the same when I saw the pics. He is like an old style Hollywood matinee idol. Suave, intelligent, well mannered, dresses well. In the days where most men's idea of a suit is made of sweatshirt fabric from Sports Direct, he looks like a lovely throwback in time.

I'm a man, and he has always seemed to be a stylish person. Teal99 your comment about most men's lack of style is spot on.

He always has such presence on screen (and in this photo as well, actually! Phew!! 😁). The last thing I recently saw him in on TV was a Miss Marple programme with Greta Scacchi, Geraldine McEwen and Anthony Andrews. Charles Dance played an angry and unhappy priest whose ambitions had been thwarted. Worth watching for his performance alone. 🌹

Yep. "Jewel in the Crown". Art Malik played Harry (Hari) Kumar in the series. Also included Judy Parfitt, Rosemary Leach, Geraldine James, Tim Pigott Smith. From the Raj Quarter books (Paul Scott). Excellent series and the books were great reading. 🌹

I loved him in Game of Thones. The scheming 🤣
