Working from home made me cry today

Through sheer frustration. The vpn connection kept dropping and I couldn't figure it out. No one was answering phones that we're supposed to ring for help and when they eventually did they weren't any help! I lost 3 hours of the working day. I know I shouldn't care because technical stuff isn't my fault but I just wondered - how do you cope with days like that when you're wfh on your own? It's different when you're in an office and you can talk to people. I didn't handle it well at all. If anyone has any tips on keeping calm on days like that I'd really appreciate them Smile

I am so glad that over the last two or three years, since our previous useless CIO left, that we finally have decent/adequate IT so wfh is easy.

I would struggle in the OPs position. Too often IT is a digital service with analogue standards of support.

As for our useless ex-CIO, he is the only person whom I have ever had in a company I've worked for whom I would be glad to see unemployed.

It was working much better yesterday, thank goodness. Absolutely no communication from the line managers who knew I'd been having all those problems. I don't expect much, just a simple "is everything OK today, Ghostly" would have been enoughHmm. I suppose it shows how much they really care, as opposed to what they say. I won't care so much next time. Learned my lesson thereSmile
