Hello, so my eldest is due back at school tomorrow, she is excited to go back, however I'm seriously concerned about the effect such sudden change is going to do to her, my daughter suffers separation anxiety due to a personal issue in our lives and had been receiving counselling, and was in contact with counsellor via telephone throughout lockdown. After the covid scare in which the children sought safety at home, I just feel like we are now throwing them into the "unknown" and there safety bubble is not there..... I may be over reacting but how has everybody spoke to there children about the change going back to school full time???

It may be tough for her. Be very open about it with her, see if she has any worries. At least its a short week back so she'll have the weekend to recover and evaluate.
Is she likely to be reluctant? Give some positive encouragement but dont force her to do anything that will harm her mental health.

Thank you, I hadn't looked at it like that, that it's a short week.
I am in close contact with the school and my girl is robust on the surface but she developed OCD after a traumatic event over Xmas, months later, so I'm trying to mentally prepare her and myself for the change in case she is affected later on again. X
