Where to go away in the UK?

We have the third week of September booked off.

Normally go to Cornwall but fancy exploring somewhere new.

Probably southern half of the UK in the hope of better weather.

Will be me, DH and toddler DS. We like mooching about outside looking at scenic stuff and nice places to go for lunch. DS is happy as long as he can run and has a tennis ball.

Can anyone help with ideas for a week's holiday in Suffolk/Norfolk area - I don't know anything about it and don't know where to start!

Or any other recommendations welcome.

I love the Rye/Hastings area. Always my favourite place to go when we have a long weekend.
Also love Overstrand In Norfolk

Walberswick in Suffolk is nice. Close to Southwold, by the beach (pebbly), and next to a nature reserve. It has a couple of pubs serving decent food, and a little coop for bits and pieces.

I know you said Suffolk , but have you thought about the IOW ?

Thanks some good starting points to google, have heard good things of Hastings before but have never heard of Overstrand or Walberswick!

Did IOW years ago but might be worth another look, thanks!

Agree with Rye, the beach at Camber is beautiful regardless of the weather.
