I think I saw it on here?

Having a conversation with my friend about the Mandela effect and I said I remembered something about a factory explosion that was mentioned on the news but it didn't actually happened till later.

But now I can't find any mention of it (ironic I know) I am sure it was in the UK, possibly in the 90s and I am sure I have seen mention of it on here.

I don't suppose anyone knows what I am talking about, I am also sure I saw it on a TV programme as well, but I can't find that either. I am sure I didn't imagine the whole thing but a possibility

Did it happen later the same day?

The only thing this reminds me of is the claim that the collapse of the third WTC building was reported by the BBC before it happened in 2001.

Iammariedtojacksparrow · 02/09/2020 11:05

I am fairly sure it did. it wasn't the WTC buildings. I shall try and think of something else and see if it comes back to me.

I have a feeling it was reported on something like ITV Carlton (to give a rough timeline)

The TV programme it was mentioned on wasn't It's A Mystery, was it? The CITV one? There was a story very similar to this on there. I am sure it is on Youtube. I will try and find it.

OP, I think I remember reading it on here.

It could be, the only mystery type shows I could think of was unexplained mysteries and its not on there.

I shall go through that show thank you

At least if I am going mad, I am taking someone else with me ;)

I have done a search on here, but as I am not sure what it might be under and how long ago it was, I gave up, but I might keep looking now someone else has said they might have read it

I do have a memory of this. I also think it was on strange but true. As far as I remember it was a water treatment plant that exploded. That sticks in my mind because I couldn't work out how water would go bang! There were two women being interviewed and they said that they saw the news at lunchtime but the explosion didn't happen in real life until later in the afternoon.

LonginesPrime · 02/09/2020 12:48

That sounds mad, greyer!

OP, please come back and tell us when you find it!

Iammariedtojacksparrow · 02/09/2020 12:49

@growinggreyer

That sounds like it, they had the time because they either had their lunch or their cup of tea at the same time to sit and watch the news. I shall start googling water treatment plants thanks for that

@LonginesPrime if I find it

Had a look on youtube but that particular episode of It's A Mystery seems to have disappeared. Other episodes are still on there though and it was definitely on there at some point.

It's hanging out in a different timeline...

Gulsink · 02/09/2020 13:12

This sound familiar. I think it might have been on one of the conspiracy theory threads a year or two ago.

doriscartwheel · 02/09/2020 13:12

It's flixborough

Iammariedtojacksparrow · 02/09/2020 13:19

@doriscartwheel

Thank you so much that is it, you have saved what little of my sanity is left

Not your newsflash thing, but Abbeystead will be the water treatment plant explosion mentioned. It was an underground methane thing. It’s not far from me so I vaguely remember it.

Apparently the woman who had the premonition was Lesley Brennan.

growinggreyer · 02/09/2020 13:35

Oh, that link does sound like the story I am remembering but I can still visualise one of the repeating images from the show I saw and it had people walking on grey steel grids above water. Just shows how memories can become tangled together.

Iammariedtojacksparrow · 02/09/2020 14:24

@growinggreyer

If I can find the tv show, I will post it, because I am sure there was more than the one woman saying she had seen it.

But my life has been made a lot easier knowing where and what it is and the year
