I’ve had to get up at 6.30 today and I feel hard done by Grin

That’s going to be our routine pretty much from now on as DC has started secondary and the bus is so early.

Used to be 7...

My children have always been early risers, so Monday to Sunday holiday or not, around 6AM is standard Sad

MinnieMountain · 02/09/2020 16:07

DS is normally up by 6:30. I'll only let him sleep until 7 on a school day as he's a terrible faffer. We leave at 8:30.

Delatron · 02/09/2020 16:21

Much earlier start this year due to DS starting secondary and he has to leave for the school bus at 7.05 (we used to leave at 8.30 😭). Now I set alarm for 6.30.
I can’t imagine spending two hours getting ready though unless you’re a morning person and love getting up early (I am not).

6am for coffee & wake up time.
DD1 gets ups at 6:30 and we do yoga, which is lovely.
DD2 up at 7
We don't have to leave until 8:30 but I hate rushing and stressing.

LER83 · 02/09/2020 16:39

I get up at 6am, I like to get ready before the kids are up. They get up anytime after 6.30am (the boys, often dragging dd out of bed at 8am!). We don't need to leave until 8.15 but have 2 with asd so mornings can be difficult! I like to allow enough time for things to go wrong! I also like to get a few jobs done before we leave.

HeyMicky · 02/09/2020 16:43

DDs get the bus from the end of our lane at 8.40. They persist in waking at half 6 🙄

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/09/2020 16:56

Between 5 and 6. We leave the house at 8, and I need some time in the morning to chill before I start the day. I'm an early riser and go to bed no later than 10pm on a school/work night.

6.15 Confused

Breakfast Club starts at 7.30, and I start work at 8.15 so that gives me time to get back and logged on.

MilkRunningOutAgain · 02/09/2020 17:05

Alarm at 6:20, wake kids at 7:00, ensure they are ready for school taxi which will get here at 8:00. I like to be up and washed/ready for the day before I wake them. I’ve been getting up this time for years, it’s really easy at the moment as I’m wfh, and so can do the housework before starting work. If or when I go back to commuting I will leave the house at 7:30 and the kids manage themselves, they are teenagers. I am so looking forward to having the house to myself! Kids start school tomorrow.

saddoiam · 02/09/2020 17:06

I get up at 7 to get myself ready and packed lunches uniform ready ect... then wake the kids at 7.30, they have 45 mins to get ready!

RainingDogsAndDogs · 02/09/2020 17:21

8am for me and DS, later for DH. Sometimes have to wake DS up, sometimes he's already awake.

TableFlowerss · 02/09/2020 23:30

Oh wow it seems I’m not alone after all. I don’t feel as guilty now getting the tiddlers up early

Ironic that I’m moaning about being tired yet I’m sat on my phone at nearly midnight....

Used to be 6am at the latest. It's now a breezy 7.30am

7 30. School is really close by.

lakesidefall · 03/09/2020 02:25

6:15, okay now but horrible in winter.

badlydrawnbear · 03/09/2020 07:01

This time. I am just going to wake up DC. I get up at 6.30 to drink a cup of tea in peace, I found that worked better than starting the day at the same time as everyone else. I am verry happy that they are back to school, but not so happy about the early start every single day (or making a packed lunch everyday, or ironing shirts!). DC have been getting up at 9 most days, so this will come as a shock to them!

ChanceEncounter · 03/09/2020 07:03

6am holidays or term, we have got into the way of getting up then. Could get away with 7am but it's nice to have the time tbh.

Aragog · 03/09/2020 07:06

I work in a school. I leave the house at 7:45am to be at work around 8am. Dh leaves the house at the same time for work.
Dh goes in the shower first and the alarm goes off at 6:45. I go in around 7:10.

We've had the same timings for years. When dd was at school she left with dh so,her alarm went off the same time for,her to get ready.

In my previous job years ago my commute was around an hour to school so we were up much much earlier.

cloudbread · 03/09/2020 07:08

I will wake dc at 7:30 that will give exactly 1 hour till we leave. In the winter it's hard to get them up but considering some of you are up at 5/6am I don't think we should complain.

TheChosenTwo · 03/09/2020 08:30

I will get up at 5:45 Every other morning to fit in a run/shower but I wake the littlest one up at 7:30 to leave the house for 8:30.
My older girls get themselves up now and off to school/college, they seem to leave themselves about 45 seconds to get up and out of the house 😂
I like to have an hour to play with once I’ve woken up ds.
