Nice hotel break in England - help

Anyone been to a hotel lately that they could recommend? Looking for a couple of days away with my husband in September for some quality time together before our baby comes (due end of November).
Would like some kind of option for pool or a spa treatment but I’m not even sure what hotel policies are on this.
No more than a couple of hours drive from London.
Amazing food is a must

The Elms in Worcester is lovely, has nice grounds, own restaurant, lovely bar and lounge, a cat! There's also a spa and indoor pool, but would have to check if these are open at the mo.

Whatever you do don’t go to a Champneys, they’ve gone shockingly downhill in recent years

The Vineyard at Stockcross is wonderful, great food, wine and 5* service.
