Cleaning

So.. I've recently become friends with one of the mums at nursery.. I'm aware she's a single mum who works full time. I take my hat off too her.. She recently invited me to her house for a cuppa after drop off.. So I took up the invitation.. My god.. Her house.. It was like a show home.. Easily the cleanest house I'd ever seen in my life.. How on earth does she do it working full time and caring for a child single handedly.. I wanted to ask but felt embarrassed to.. I know she doesn't have a cleaner and her parents aren't around... I'm embarrassed to invite her round mine, I'm married, I work part time and I have a cleaner and my house was no where near her standard!!!

Working full time means no one is mucking it up for 9 hours each day. That helps.

If she has only one child, no partner, no pets, they’re out all day then it’s really easy to keep it clean. It’s when you start adding people and pets it gets harder.

She quite possibly cleans at night as her child is in bed and she's lonely and miserable.

That's what I did.

Life moved on and I got over it though🤣

It could well be that she feels the need to 'prove a point' about single Mums, before I met my partner I was a single Mum and constantly battled with myself over being 'good enough' I felt quite pressured into being a 'SuperMum' and not looking like I'd gone to pieces and couldn't cope.... or she may simply like to have a beautiful house x

One child, one adult, both out the house all day is far easier than a sahm with multiple kids and a husband.

This.

When I went back from PT to FT work it suddenly got a lot easier to keep the house clean.

I would imagine she is just one of those people who have the perfect clean house. Annoying Isn’t it.
As others have said not being their helps.

I’m a housekeeper. I literally keep another persons house clean and tidy and organised. But boy if u could see my house you would wonder how I managed it for someone else when my own is a tip

I'm with small steps

aiwblam · 11/07/2021 21:05

She’s probably just good at it. Organised etc - if everything has a place, it’ll be easier to clear up.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/07/2021 21:27

Half the stuff
Cleaned up for your visit
Out the house all day

Comedycook · 11/07/2021 21:29
