How floral is your town? As in floral displays?

I think it's a sign I'm finally getting old. Probably because I am but I've really started to notice all the lovely, floral displays around my town - - as I trudge round on yet another walk--

And it occurred to me despite being a very working class. Quite deprived Town and despite all the cuts its one thing that's never been affected. The streets are lined with huge hanging baskets, all the roundabouts have elaborate displays our park is filled each year. Our coronation gardens which are a glorified bus stop really are filled religiously each year. Even the railings (( as pictured)) lined with flowers. It's something I've taken for granted and I don't think I've noticed until now.

Is this the norm elsewhere? We visit places a lot and I can't say I've really noticed them as much as we have here.

We've got riot barriers which are disguised as plant pots sat outside the entrances to the shopping centre and the banks. They used to have some flowers but the appeal of the smokers to use as a giant ashtray even killed off the Ivy that was in them.

There's also a roundabout on the ring road sponsored by a local furniture shop which has a rather poor looking display but better than the one outside the council house is just dirt and the fountain turned off.

We’ve got lots of nice displays... would rather have a proper library tbh

At the waterfront always nice floral beds. The town had these tiered stands dotted about all the squares, not particularly inventive. The stores do their own displays (if any).

riot we do have a huge and busy library so we're lucky in that respect. But all the small, local libraries, mainly in deprived areas have closed. These were essential and I don't think we're going to see the real effects of the closures for years to come.
