Nintendo switch - sd card?

Just bought a Nintendo switch.

Do you need an sd card and if so what GB and is to best to be a Nintendo sd card?

The switch has 32gb of internal memory, so you only need a memory card if you'll be downloading lots of games rather than buying them in physical form really. I bought a 128gb card for DS as he'll be buying most games and downloading them digitally, but it's not essential right away if you'll just have a couple of games at first. It all depends on how you'll be using it.

IIRC it will take up to 256gb, but that's a hell of a lot of space.

We have a mix of downloaded and physical games, with a 64GB card. So far it's been plenty big enough but if you're going to be regularly downloading I'd say go bigger because some games (Zelda, Pokemon) are over 10GB on their own.

It can take upto 2TB technically, think I've got a 400GB card in mine.

Anybody with a PS4 or Xbox reading this and marvelling how small games can be? Ds needs 90gb in hard drive space available to download Call of Duty updates

We have this one from Amazon. 128gb and cost £15. He has about 30 games.
