I want to become a therapist/counsellor in the future. Is there a good introductory course I can do either online or in a local Uni?

Just that really.
I think this is something I would like to do in a number of years time.
I know it takes a lot of time and effort and money.
I know I would have to undergo counselling myself.
I've already had counselling for various personal issues and feel that it's something I would be good at.
I'm not absolutely certain yet so would like to do a good introductory course either online or at a local University/College in the evening as I work full time.
I'm in West London.
Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

My neighbour is doing this she did a local college course and now is enrolled at a uni doing a following course too. Maybe that you need the college course before uni.

I'm thinking of doing an 8 week intro to counselling starting next week. It's meant to be in person but is online due to covid, not London though. I'm starting my service once I have my certification but then will Di the follow up course part time. I have done counselling for years though, through working for a church

You are spoilt for choice in London. My friend did one at Birkbeck. I did one at WPF which I loved.

Also check out Metanoia.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Metanoia sounds promising and it's very close to me.
