Been sent in by out of hours gp with suspected acute pancreatitis. First time I've been near a hospital/health care setting since before lockdown and it is the weirdest experience of my life.
Might also be because this is a hospital I haven't been to before but there's a load of drunks/smack heads hanging round in reception, charging their phones and ordering pizza. In their defence they did ask the staff and the patients if anyone wanted anything😂
But then the rest of the place is like a ghost town, everyone distanced, wearing masks, hardly speaking. You wouldn't dream it was a Saturday night in a&e. As a pub worker, asthmatic and all round sickly person I've spent a lot of time sat in waiting rooms over the years but I've never seen one this quiet.
Anyway, I'm just rambling to pass the time. 3 hour wait to see the doctor 😩
