Is a a smurf a gnome?

For classification purposes, the genus would be gnome, the species would be smurf.

No. Sprites were green.

They're definitely not gnomes, there were gnomes in the TV series and they were totally separate things. Smurfs are like crocodiles, similar to other creatures in basic ways but pretty much their own species, not gnomes or pixies or fairies 🤣

Sprites were green, with a three pointed hat.

Pixies were also green, but with a one pointed hat.

Which means we can rule out smurfs being a sub species of sprite.

I’d like to portray myself as some sort of Brownie six guru.... but I checked the colours on google. Which is why I could identify the hats worn by the various species as well as their colour.
