Taxi with a toddler?

I might be being a bit thick here but if you order a taxi and have a one year old with you what happens? Do they provide a car seat? I'm in the UK btw, thanks!

You can ask but they may not have one. Do you have one you can use? Otherwise they can travel without it as taxis are exempt from car seat rules
