Packed lunch

Teacher12345 · 29/08/2020 17:01

I am thinking about packed lunches and wondered if anyone has any other ideas I can add to keep things from being boring for DS. I had jam/ham sandwiches for 5 years so am keen to give variety!

Ideas include pinwheels, ham on a roll/bagel, pancakes plus fruit, salad sticks, bread sticks.

What else can I do?

Mine like 'deconstructed sandwiches'... They just take stuff like meat/cheese, vegetables, and a bread product and build it themselves. Or eat it seperately. I'm not entirely sure but they don't like built sandwiches. The 'bread' bit varies between crackers, wraps, sandwich thins, pasta sometimes as well. Meat/cheese can be ham, sausage, chicken, beef, a cheese portion, or a slice of cheese (or a mixture).

I like that idea!

Cheese and crackers
Popcorn
Tuna pasta salad
Cous cous with chopped peppers and chicken
Cold pizza slices

So far our ideas for the main part of lunch are:

Pizza slices
Paninis
‘Melted wraps’ - essentially ham/pepperoni and cheese wraps baked in the oven for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese.
Homemade lunchable - meat, cheese and crackers
Pasta
Roll ups
Sandwiches
