Period related....

I’m 39 years old and up until now my period has been like clockwork. Every month on the correct exact date. I used to go to the gym prior COVID but stopped for obvious reasons but started running which I’ve not done before. For the 1st time my period was 7 days late last month, now again this month. I should have had my period on the 27th but no sign, however I gave all the aches/pains associated with periods but no bleeding.

Has anyone had there cycle messed because of exercise? I’m also very stressed and anxious because of COVID and now the reopening of schools..but that more prominent this month and not as bad last month...

This was me this month! Normally regular as clockwork but was 10 days late this time. I have been losing weight recently (deliberately) but at a healthy rate, 1lb a week kind of thing, so I don't think it can be down to that. I've had a lot of hairloss too so maybe it's down to stress, though I don't feel that anxious about Covid. I don't know!

It could well be stress, but I found that my periods were longer in between in my 40’s and then went shorter heading towards the menopause.

Does menopause start around 39.. or actually start but the body preparing for it? I am definitely stressed but I’ve been stressed before and nothing affected my period then..

*not actually start

Could definitely be perimenopause at age 39 or you could have 10+ years before that starts. Mine started about age 43 and periods still all over the place five years later.

Thank you. Maybe I should have a chat with the GP..well if I can get hold of one

Not saying you’re wrong but wondering what the point is of talking to GP about it as never occurred to me and wondering if I should have done!?

Just to see if this is peri menopausal related or something else. Also To seek advice on lifestyle changes I can make
