What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having my usual cuppa, in the kitchen, in silence. There's no washing to be done (hit the bottom of the basket yesterday & there isn't enough in there for a load now Shock ).

We were going to have a walk into town but it's forecasting rain later on so might have 'Sunday' dinner today, and a walk to town tomorrow instead, when the forecast's better. We only really need a few bits from Home Bargains, school tights from Primarni, and a pencil case for dd1.

If we don't go to town, me and dd2 will check our sugar crystals and she wanted to bake donuts so we'll probably do that. Dd1 will more than likely watch more Vampire Diaries & pop downstairs to say hello every now and again.

I have a short to-do list for my Rainbows and Guides that I'd like to get done before going back to work so may start that soon, before everyone's up. Oh, and I have an amazon basket to check out, so I'll do that too!

What about you lot?

Supervising my DH as he assembles a couple of bookcases from Ikea, then will have lunch and watch F1 qualifying. Later will order fish and chips and watch an 80s movie.

My ds went back to school this week. I was really fearing it but he is so so happy to be back. He is almost 7.
This morning he went to work with his dad for a couple of hours, the baby had a 2 hour nap and I had peace and quiet, coffee, a bit of a tidy up and only fools and horses in the background. Had a huge migraine Thursday and Friday but much better today.
When the baby woke I went to aldi (havent been there for a long time) and got a massive food shop. They have so much choice there compared to where I had been shopping. I think I actually have enough food to last a whole week!
Collected ds from work with his dad, who will be working all day.
Got home and put the food shop away, fed the baby, hes gone for another nap and sitting down now with f1 qualifying on the TV. Ds loves Ferrari and Vettel so it looks like hell be disappointed today.
Going to do bacon, cabbage, parsnip and potato for later, with apple crumble for afters.

@Toilenstripes I'm so jealous of your IKEA bookcases! Was actually looking online for one this morning for my ds who badly needs one but my nearest IKEA is a 2 hour drive away

I have defrosted the freezer which needed doing about two years ago. The top drawer now fits back in. It was incredibly satisfying. Baby DS is napping on me and I need to hang washing up but want him to sleep. Such an exciting one for me.

We got ours delivered for £49! We thought it was ridiculous but really needed them. 🤷‍♀️

Have walked the pooch twice, cut the grass, been to a garden centre, baked and now doing dinner for me DH and DS2. Going to relax with some wine and TV soon, love a chilled Saturday!

We had a nice day. Boys had haircuts, then spent a bit too much money in the shops but practical stuff like kids walking boots and flasks. A nice coastal walk just me the children and the dog. Now making dinner and readying myself for the voice kids UK final!
