Bit worried about my 3 years old development

I have two children, a 3 yo boy and a 9 months old girl.

My eldest was a very late talker and started putting two words together when he was older than 2. He now actually knows a lot of words but repeats them mechanically; he can answer practical questions, but cannot express his feelings (maybe he's a bit young for that?), and if I ask a question he ignores it.He can answer sometimes if we give him the answer he just repeats it ( example: "Where does wee go? In the potty", he will repeat it.

Doesn't socialize at all: he's always on his own, with his faviourite toy, and ignores all other kids (he also ignores his sister). He's obsessed with a toy he refuses to part from, and doesn't like drawing, play doh or other activities children would like.

He used to be quite sociable until he was one but now it's becoming clear he doesn't like interacting with vast majority of other people. He loves animals and focuses on them all day.

He didn't meet all the milestones at nursery, btu he's there very few hours a week and they aren't very observant, and are understaffed. He has a super limited diet, and we tried everything to make him eat more, he refuses to eat.

Meltdowns are terrible, happen usually when he loses his little toy or when we switch off the TV (again, he wants to watch the same movie on a loop).

My DH thinks I worry too much, and maybe the speech delay is why I'm concerned, but I cannot stop wondering whether it's a good idea to speak to GP or HV. He's my first so maybe I'm being a bit PFB.

Thanks X

Yanbu, I think speaking to nursery and to your HV is a great idea Flowers

They always take it a wee bit more seriously if its your second too as you have a better comparison.

@AntiSocialDistancer thank you, he's going to a new nursery in September, I might ask them to keep an eye and let me know what their opinion is.
