MN etiquette - people you know IRL?

There are several people that I'm fairly sure I know IRL who post on here.
What do you do, if you know someone? Is there like a secret handshake, or is it not the done thing to let on?

I'd hate to be recognised on here and as a result have a few names I use for specific boards so that nobody could put two and two together.
I would never let on I knew someone, I'd hate them to feel awkward .

I found someone I knew, she had posted the same thing on here that she posted on Facebook. I advanced searched her posts and it was definitely her. The username also fitted. I haven’t told her I know.
