Depop - has anyone had problems

Just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience to me... I bought my teenage niece a few items on Depop for her birthday and one didn't arrive.

I contacted the seller who said his post office was terrible and he was sooo sorry. Wouldn't supply proof of postage and said I must surely understand it's not his fault it's Royal Mail's. It does say in his bio he's not responsible after shipping (most sellers seem to state this).

I've now opened a PayPal dispute and he has to get in touch with me so I anticipate more angsty messages. Am I right in thinking I should be refunded?

look on @depopdrama on instagram. everyone blames the post office. you were right to open a dispute

JeffreyJefferson I only found that a few days a go and it’s provided a lot of entertainment since!

Don’t worry about it OP. Onus is on the seller to provide proof of postage to PayPal. You will get any money back, just leave it to them now.

On that account right now, it's brilliant. Thanks both, fingers crossed then.

It seems a bit odd that he won’t show your evidence that he’s posted it. PayPal will ask him for this. He can’t say he’s not responsible even if Royal Mail were at fault it would be up to him to raise it with them.
