Along the lines of Fleabag, Catastrophe, Motherland, Pulling, Crashing, Black Books, Father Ted, Still Game, Young Offenders, Parks & Recreation? Heartwarming yet laugh out loud funny?? Desperately need something light to watch to offset Once Upon a Time in Iraq. Thank you Smile

I'm loving Cougar Town at the moment. It's on Prime.

I second Friday Night Dinner. Also loved Man Like Mobeen and The Detectorists.

The other one

VimFuego101 · 27/08/2020 02:41

Schitt's Creek is great. Power through the first few episodes, it grows on you.

Sophiafour · 27/08/2020 02:56

Derry Girls. Though depending on where you're from/have lived/have watched, you might need help understanding some of the terms used. And if you enjoy that one, you'll probably enjoy London Irish. (I found London Irish much funnier second time around, after I'd watched Derry Girls.)

And, staying in Northern Ireland, if it's still on iPlayer or other platforms, Soft Border Control.

Also Schitt's Creek. Don't let the title put you off. Really, it's lovely.

And Friday Night Dinner.

And Sex Education.

And Detectorists.

Detectorists
This Country
People Just Do Nothing
The IT Crowd
Spaced

Travel Man - not a comedy per se but always makes me chuckle and they visit some really beautiful and interesting places, so great if you need some escapism Smile

IdblowJonSnow · 27/08/2020 06:59

I second schitts creek, sex ed and game face. All fab. Sex Ed the best imo as its gripping too, not just funny.

Friday night dinner is SO marmite.

risefromyourgrave · 27/08/2020 07:23

Detectorists and Schitt’s Creek are both lovely, funny while not being nasty, no big contrived dramas, just gently, nicely funny.

Elderflower14 · 27/08/2020 11:00

@toomanyspiderplants Nooo! He's gorgeous and I love his accent... I first found him on a drama called This Little Life....

Whatisthisarghhh · 27/08/2020 11:06

The Letdown- on Netflix. Funny Australian show.
Working Mums- also on Netflix.
Both similar to Motherland. Loved them both. Good comedies with heart.

Hi, thanks so much everyone! This is a great list to get started with! Took your advice & rewatched E1 of London Irish tonight (OH is from NI) and it was much funnier than remembered! Think we only tried it for ten min last time. Will work through the list, appreciated!
