Creepy men on Scrabble Go

There was a thread a while ago about men who play scrabble on line and who try to chat women up.
It seems many women have had this experience.
I can't find the thread, but I've just read this on the BBC news app

It's why I have my settings to mute chat unless it's someone I actually know. I don't want or need to chat, I'm there to play a word game.

There is no medium that men won't try and be creepy to women. None.

Yes! I have this all the time. Very annoying. The first sign of a message and I resign the game and mute them! Buh-bye creepy men!

Lots of different games. There was a general knowledge one which had global players. There were 5 players per game and whilst waiting for the maximum numbers to join there would be chat. Even if you just said hi there were some aggressive men who became abusive if you did not tell them your age or chat to them. There was a lot of what I would call verbal flashing, like verbally trying to show you their dicks (do you want to see my dick, I am a pedo). I found the South African guys the worse, really aggressively pushy. I ended up deleting the app.

I've had this! Didn't know it was a thing. Who the fuck thinks 'hmmm... I like the way this woman has used a high scoring letter on a tripple word square. Maybe she'd ahow me her tits?'

I've tried to have innocent conversations, just to see where they lead, but usually end up cancelling the game because they start to get inappropriate very quickly.
Every one of them is single, and working away from home. Either in the forces, or doing voluntary work or something. And most of them are American.

I've had this on lots of games. It's disgusting. I tend to mute players now and have a separate Facebook account so the fuckers cant find me, which has also been known.

Twitter, forums, game chats, discord servers and even way back in the 90s on chat rooms... Entitlement uses any means.

"Fancy a game of Scrabble" is code in our house...

I've had this on Words with Friends, to the point where I stopped accepting any male names for games. It was literally every time.

It's so annoying. I changed my name on words with friends to 'notgivingyoumygmail' because they all asked for that all the time! And they were either soldiers, army doctors or working on oil rigs. I actually uninstalled the app because of it. Now I use scrabble go and it does still happen but it is slightly less. What is annoying is one of them messaged me 'fuck you' after I refused to share contact details and even after I reported him he was still playing. I think sending abusive messages should get people a suspension if not an outright ban at least!

Yes. I just find it amusing. On WWF it’s clearly part of the international catfish training camp list of likely sites to find possible desperate lonely women to scam.
Just don’t accept games from anyone with a low average score. They’re all shockingly shit at scrabble.

I've had this loads on words with friends. I don't accept any chat requests now.
