Heir hunters

Hi,

We got a letter out of the blue from a company called Harrisons, heir hunters. DH was advised his uncle had died 7 years ago, (there had been no contact because his family did not know his address - not due to any feud). The company said he had a balance in at least one bank account, and they coudl help to see if he was entitled to any proceeds, at a fee of 10% of any final figure - no fee if no money/not entitled.

Has anyone heard of this or gone through the same process?

They ask he sends in the agreement and may need evidence - death certs/marriage certs etc.

They (heir hunters in general) seem legit when you see them on TV.
No other experience.

If you know your deceased relative's name you can find them on the government's list and make a direct claim. No need to pay anyone their 10%.
