LA / Selling sunset - where do real people live??

So slightly unhealthily obsessed with Selling sunset, and before that Million dollar listing LA... but is anyone based in LA- where do real people live?
And for the guys in the show- I’m so curious to see their places (not the boys...) MDL shows you all their places and so I’m interested to see how they compare...
So that’s my Tuesday musing 😂

My family are in San Juan Capistrano, it's a small town just south of LA near the coast.

I have connections with Pasadena and South Mapleton Drive which is between Beverly Hills and Bel Air.

No-one walks anywhere & in my experience everyone has a live-in hairdresser, live-in make-up artist and their poolhouses have an average of 4 beds/6 bathrooms.

No such thing as neighbours you talk to/have a genuine friendship with.

I was wondering that too @WingingWonder. Is the whole place expensive to live? There must be cheaper housing available for the normal folk.

Amazing thanks... I’ve been for work a few years ago and found it all fascinating!! Really loved Santa Monica, but always bemused at people with 10m places using a weekend escape beach house for another 5m... 20 min awayn

Funnily enough I've just finished watching The Shield which is set in LA (don't worry, no spoilers) and about 90% of the action is in really grotty areas. I remember thinking more than once that it was a shame there were no scenes in the fancy bits!
