Thyroiditis diagnosis

Had a letter through saying my antibody levels are strongly positive which indicates thyroiditis. Am not surprised as been feeling ill for a while and have a lump/thickening in my neck. Have been on Levo for 25 years, 100mcg a day so not a massive amount.

Have googled it but would appreciate anyone's personal experience. What happened after diagnosis? Have a CT this week, then will see consultant.

thank you x

Often very little changes after diagnosis sadly,. Get yourself on to Thyroid patient advocacy TPA website, there’s some good information on there. 100 mgs of Levo is not enough to relieve symptoms as shown by your enlarged thyroid gland. You should also go gluten free as this can help to reduce the antibodies that are attacking your thyroid gland.
Good luck it’s a much misunderstood condition and can make you feel awful, fellow sufferer here so you have my sympathy.

Thank you @awaynboilyurheid I really appreciate you replying.

Can I ask you some questions?

1/ How much did they increase your Levo to and how soon did you feel better?
2/ Did you have surgery to take away any lumps?
3/ Did you have neck ache and apart from paracetamol (I cant take ibuprofen) what helped? It aches so much sometimes I just feel sick with it.The pains go into the base of my skull and down my right shoulder. My ear is so painful too sometimes
4/ Did you have weird feelings in your mouth too? It feels like something is pushing up my jaw
5/ Apart from Levo are you on any other meds?

Thank you re the website too - will take a look x
