X-ray results

Hi, posting here for traffic as the health boards can be quiet at times and I’m really panicking.

Has anyone had x-rays recently? I had some taken on Friday afternoon and was told it would take 7 days for results, well my Drs surgery have just called to book a telephone consult with my GP for tomorrow morning.

Now I’m panicking, have they gone through quickly because the hospitals are quieter at the moment or because they’ve found something serious?

Basically x-rays were of my feet and ankles because for 6 months I’ve had slightly swollen but very painful feet, with no real explanation.

I suffer with anxiety so it took me a long time to muster up the guts to call the GP, walking into the hospital was awful (phobia of all things medical).

It’s my daughters 16th birthday today and that phone call has sent me spiralling into an anxiety attack!

Had similar for a MRI. Turned out they had had a cancellation. If it was really urgent they'd have got you in on Friday evening.

My DF had scans last week and the results came back really quickly. The doctor said it was because no one is getting treatment because of Covid

It does not mean that they have found anything nasty necessarily. We are finding some results are coming through very quickly at the moment. Of course I can't completely reassure you because it may be that further tests need to be done or whatever. I hope it turns out well .

I would assume it’s just a normal follow up. I had an x-ray of my hand last week and I literally had the results back about 30 minutes later (it was nothing urgent or worrying). I would see it as a good thing they’re so on top of it.

I had a head MRI two weeks ago, MRI was at 2.00pm & by 4.30pm my consultant had rung me with the results & discussed further scans & tests I needed to have.

Our hospital are reporting screening mammograms within 24 hrs at the moment ( breast test Wales) ...normally it can sometimes take up to a week! ...

Thank you for your replies.

My GP is calling at 9 so I’ll know more then.
