How do I tone my body without losing weight?

Not sure where I should put this post but I could do with some advice please.

Never really exercised much. Was always too busy, bringing up children, cleaning etc.

Anyway, I am finally going to have a bit more time for myself and I’m desperate to tone myself up (especially my thighs, bum and tum). I’m not overweight and don’t want to lose weight.

What should I be doing and what should I be eating?

If anyone can help or can send me any links that would be great. Thanks.

@Mikethenight2good and @FlyingLoo - I do Pilates workouts on YouTube. I started by just searching for “Pilates workout 30 minutes full body” and found 2 by a woman called Ashley (at the gym box) which I quite like. I tend to alternate these with one from Aoife Hannan which is also a full body workout. There are loads on there, I’d recommend trying a few to find someone you like. Aoife does some 15 minute ones as well, and there are longer workouts too. For me 30 minutes fits perfectly into my morning routine - if I had to find an hour I would probably put it off!

Thanks so much @bettybyebye I’m a lazy so and so, 15 minutes as a starting point sounds perfect.

Great thread OP. I'm overweight, but there are some great replies and tips.

I've been doing weights for the past 18 months, first at the gym, then at home. I used a personal trainer at the gym, and she was brilliant at giving me the right weights for my ability. I've just kept on at similar weights so that when I can go back to PT I won't have lost too much muscle (and so I don't disappoint her!).
