Taylors coffee bag ads

Can I just give a huge round of applause to the bloke who plays the seaman standing on the deck of the boat, who tries to explain putting coffee into bags, only to be interrupted by the boat hooter?

The way he storms off, having been unable to finish his sentence makes me proper laugh. It's how I feel so often - 'oh, never mind!'

It’s a brilliant ad .

JoJothesquirrel · 23/08/2020 19:11

That’s a favourite advert in our house because I am famous for the “just forget it” storm off.

The bit that makes me laugh is the man on the train leaning against the carriage door....before he tips out.

I also like the new AA one, clever and much better than the old ones with the child in the car with [badly] superimposed speech..

Good ad (Taylors) but I don't understand the end when the woman says 'brilliant idea, I don't know why nobody thought of it before'
Well they did - Kenco did it years ago.
And that AA ad is just bloody weird... I don't like it at all.

I've recently made the switch to decaff and tried the Taylor's decaff coffee bags. I think they make a great cup of coffee. Itried coffee bags years ago. These are a massive improvement.

Mam has been buying Lyons coffee bags for as long as I can remember so maybe the woman should be saying 'I don't know why they didn't do it sooner'.

The Hot Lava Java bags are really nice, mind you.

I also like the man falling out of the train, but it's the whole attitude of the bloke on the boat; his sheer frustration! I think we all know how that feels - being constantly drowned out when we are trying to say something useful!

I've only seen the shortened version of the ad recently and I'm missing my 'Boat Bloke'.

Every time that ad comes on my husband shouts "They did!"

Apparently, Lyons were making coffee bags in the 70s and 80s, probably before that too.

They were definitely around in the 1970s. My mum used them for Terry our telly repair man who was a regular visitor when we had out old GEC TV.
Then we got a Phillips one and never saw him again.
