What’s Happening In Your House?

I need some distraction from dramatic run ins with my pre - teen! So draining! Apart from all of that, I’m having a reasonably chilled day. Popped to Asda to see if they had DD’s size in the school shoes she wants & to look for hiking sandals as she’s wearing her old size 4’s even though she was measured as a 5 to 5.5! That was one of the run ins! Shows how stressful things get when half an hour at a supermarket is a treat! Decided I need to carve out some proper “ me time”. DH goes cycling so I will try to find an exercise class of some sort or if I’m brave enough, return to karate which I loved.
Tea is sorted ( Aldi lamb shanks for us, beef in gravy for DD with a pile of roasties which I need to do). Putting off cleaning the bathroom which is way overdue. All I’ve done is chuck some bleach down the loo.
It needs blitzing! And don’t tell anyone but I may have started on a very nice bottle of Chardonnay. Well it is Sunday!

Cats are probably lying about looking sad because we aren't there.
We are staying at a relative's house in Wales (the relative isn't here but my parents are).
We have just got in from the beach. DDs are sitting on the settee, playing on DD1's iPod, mum is in the kitchen preparing dinner having told me nothing needs doing when I offered to help, DH is in the bathroom I think, I don't know where my dad is, 2 dogs are lying in the hallway hoping for someone to play ball with them.

Chores this morning, canal walk and park this afternoon, just had dinner (homemade meatballs, spaghetti and salad). Going to shower the kids and then a glass of red once they are in bed.

Had a lie in, went blackberrying with DH and dogs, found a hidden pond. Did some food prep, went for a walk over fields whilst chatting to DD on phone, DSD visited, knitted. Now cooking fish and will take dogs out again after, with a flask of coffee and a custard donut to have on a log in the woods.

DP has just gone home, so i'm spending the evening watching tv and making a half arsed attempt at some housework.

My dad is making lasagna for the first time ever. I have made a pear and honey tart. The baby is being quite random and resisting all suggestions he might like to consider napping; he is currently staring at his favourite cushion. The cat is getting underfoot and generally being a dick.

DD woke at 7, got up in time for the supermarket delivery at 9. Swept the house (bloody moulting semi feral foster cat who won't let me brush her). Contemplated fixing the hoover. Did not fix the hoover. Took DD for a riding lesson then to lunch at the local cowboy place to bribe her to hang around for an hour while I had a lesson. Sorted out the horse then back here so her dad could pick her up. Now planning on doing FA until he drops her back tomorrow morning.

I lie, I am going to watch people riding horses on Tic Toc, my new guilty pleasure, and finish watching A Star is Born.

And fanny about on MN.

I've vacuumed all the downstairs and mopped the kitchen, utility and dining room. Decluttered the dumping ground coffee table and planned my new craft area.

Did an online Asda shop. Basically kept myself busy as I've got a hospital appointment tomorrow for my biopsy results and my dad’s funeral on Tuesday.

I'm not looking forward to this week at all.

I've cleaned the bathroom, changed the beds and done a bit of tidying in the garden. Just finished doing a bit of the jigsaw DS (14) and I are doing together - it's a fab one of an old fashioned toy shop and we're about half way through. DH has been tinkering in the garage in between watching the cricket. Just sat down with my book and a glass of wine. Rolls in the oven to have with a tomato and mozarella salad. Lovely lazy day.

We are all moping because we’d planned to go camping this week but there are gale force winds forecast. So it looks like that’s not going to happen. DD and DS are playing computer games, DH is pottering in the garden, I’m procrastinating doing the washing up. And planning some retail therapy tomorrow instead- the DC need a few stationery bits for school, so I figure if we go and do that tomorrow that will cheer them up.

Meh though. I have a garage full of camping bits all cleaned and packed and ready to be loaded in to the car. Sad we were expecting to be excited tonight, not dejected.
