At the grand old age of 42 I am going on my first ever actual date today. I’ve only ever met previous partners in the pub or at work (or already knew them). I can’t decided if I’m terrified or excited. Any words of wisdom from anyone?

Good luck
Just be yourself and you will do just fine

Go, be yourself and enjoy yourself. If you get there and feel he isn't for you, at least you've met some one new and hopefully learnt something that you didn't already know. ( oh, and a free drink/dinner is always a bonus)

How did it go OP?

Oh I was wondering the same 😃

I don’t know is the honest answer.
We seemed to have a lovely couple of hours and chatted with ease. It was just really nice. He was intelligent, confident, handsome, tall etc.
Haven’t heard from him since!
It’s so disheartening to not know what (if anything) I did wrong.

He had sent a text to say he was home and he’d had a nice time. I replied and then followed it up the next morning reiterating that it was nice to meet him etc and then nothing. Very strange
