I used to camp a lot before kids. Since then I have been fake/ easy camping, as in, in a caravan or Eurocamp tent.
We are proper camping next week with. 6, 4 and 2 year old. Putting up our own tent etc. I have today to get organised and would love your tips please.
(If I don't respond immediately it's because I am swimming this morning, I will be back).
Thank you.

If you get cold at night, get a sleeping bag liner. It makes such a difference, plus if you get too warm you can unzip your bag but still stay warm enough.
I take a medium size dry bag as a toiletry bag. So if it does get wet on the outside your stuff stays dry.

My best tip for camping is to go abroad to the South of France.

But seriously - decent camp bed. We use several camping burners for cooking - and now I take along my electric hook up unit and a griddle. That has been fantastic for cooking.

It gets cold at night. I have just invested in a portable fire pit - for camp fires. Just waiting for an opportunity to use it.

I love camping - but I will admit to being a fair weather camper.

Check the campsite rules. Despite being very experienced, we managed to break several in the first half hour yesterday due to a misunderstanding/DH not reading small print.

Accept you won't get much sleep.
