Hi, any advice would be great. My son and his gf moved into a new ha property just before Christmas. They had been transferred from their flat as it was damp and it was affecting her health. She is registered disabled and he was her carer. He’s just told us she’s moved out, don’t know why yet, and taken one of their two pets. He hasn’t got the best mh, and has AS but seemed to be much better (his pip was refused). He is now panicking as he assumes they will take the lovely new house from him as a single man and he will have nowhere to live. Coming here isn’t possible with their other pets and we Frankly haven’t got room. Obviously first step is to talk to the ha, and sort out benefits, but if anyone can advise us how to help him I’d be grateful.

Was he a joint tenant?

Talk to him see what's happened? Until then you wont know if shes likely to come back to the property or not?
If either of them will be made homeless due to the split then the local authority will have the duty to house them not their current housing association.
