What do YOU do that would drive you mad

if anyone else did it?

I never set the microwave for 2 minutes, or whatever the packaging says - I just get it going for any old random amount of time with the result that I either need to keep putting it in again, or end up with it boiled over/scalding hot and have to wait half an hour for it to be safe to consume! If anyone else in my family did that I'd think they were a total lemon, but it's me, so I let myself continue doing it.

What about you?

I put important things in a "safe" place when I'm tidying, then forget where the safe place was!
Currently looking for a particular handbag that I promised to lend DIL. I bought a Christmas present one year for DH, found it seven years later when we were moving house! Blush

MuseumOfYou · 20/08/2020 22:37

Just when people get to the peak of their story, pause for breath for the final line, I have a horrible habit of finishing it for them.

Mashingthecompost · 20/08/2020 22:39

@LadyEloise you probably don't need me to tell you why it's such a bad idea, but google Jane McGonigal Concussion. (Eventual happy ending and she's one of my fave people, but oof.)

CoronaBollox · 20/08/2020 22:40

I swing my leg constantly when sitting down. Cross legged and the one on top I move up and down... all day long Blush

Something falls in the fridge/cupboard I leave it. Leave my shoes everywhere.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 20/08/2020 22:43

I side-eye people. I would hate it if anyone looked at me that way but I'm a dick so it's fine.

minipie · 20/08/2020 22:45

Stay up late doing stuff like MN and then lie in in the morning

Leave wet towels around

Leave cups of tea to go cold, that someone else has made me

Avoid driving unless I have to, because I’m shit at it and it scares me

Pick at my hangnails

GarlicMcAtackney · 20/08/2020 22:45

-Interrupt my husbands gaming to show him memes every five minutes
-Constantly fidget, picking skin, bouncing my leg, restlessly rearranging myself.
-eat loads of crisps and then whine about how much I hate my figure and expect others to cure me by giving me compliments that I won’t believe
-not really listen to anyone and struggle with eye contact and what to do with my hands

SilverOtter · 20/08/2020 22:50

I'm horribly bossy and utterly incapable of making a hot drink without also making a huge mess.

HungryForSnacks · 20/08/2020 22:52

I faff.

I'll give myself an hour to get ready and then 10 minutes before we need to leave I'll be flapping about sorting out one more thing then we're usually late

I am so annoying 🤣

SilverOtter · 20/08/2020 22:54

Apparently I also roll my eyes a lot🙄

JeffVaderneedsatray · 20/08/2020 22:58

Oh so very many things!
Leave stuff EVERYWHERE so we all trip over it. I have fallen over my own shoes 7 times today but they are still in the way.....
Get distracted half way through a task, wander off and then wonder why the bathroom is a tip when I wander past it later.
Zone out when DH is talking (bollocks and boring shit about his car/job/random thing he watched on youtube), deny I have zoned out and then frantically try to respond appropriately.
Constantly make plans for a cleaner, tidier house, laminate them, stick them up in the kitchen then ignore them until they, too, are covered in dust and express surprise that my new system has failed to end up in a tidy house
Flit from one creative project to another
Eat far too much then wail about being fat
make arrangements with my mum, forget to tell DH about them and then swear blind I told him and he wasn't listening
Make massive piles of stuff rather than just fucking put it away
Pile clean washing on the spare room bed so no one ever has clean clothes in the place they need them
Spend money on my job
Talk too much

God,I'm annoying!

GisAFag · 20/08/2020 23:06

The look on my face gives away how I'm feeling.

I'm an awfully big gossip.

I bare a grudge for all eternity. I will never forgive you either and my face will show you that I hate you

JadesRollerDisco · 20/08/2020 23:08

Let my alarm go off for ages. Usually multiple alarms, intermittently pressing the snooze button.

Instead of putting things away just move them from one room to another.

Piles of clean laundry I never put away.

Don't take the recycling out for ages until it overtakes the kitchen and I actually have to because it's getting a bit "Hoarders"

Use all the ice cubes and forget to make more. I always refill the biscuit tin and tea bags and things like that but I always forget to replace the ice

Apricotta · 20/08/2020 23:09

When talking to my husband I quite often get distracted and never finish my....

Apricotta · 20/08/2020 23:10

Apricotta · 20/08/2020 23:11

Apricotta · 20/08/2020 23:11

Sentences! 😉

ILoveAnOwl · 20/08/2020 23:13

I'm always late. I never finish a cup of tea. I always fil a glass of water to the top and then throw a bit away.

goodwinter · 20/08/2020 23:17

@RandomTree

I have a tendency to interrupt people. I'm trying to stop Blush
Me too, it's awful. I can feel myself doing it and somehow just do it anyway.

I lose things a lot and I'm really clumsy, so I break and spill things quite a lot too.

I can never decide what I want to eat (I have some anxiety issues around food!) so supermarket shopping, deciding on dinner or ordering a takeaway can be torturous sometimes.

nancybotwinbloom · 21/08/2020 00:16

@DasPepe I am the same but with milk rather than sugar.

Crylittlesister · 21/08/2020 00:33

I'm another interrupter. I work with a (genuinely!) fabulous woman who gives me a death stare and continues talking until I shut up.
I snore like a tractor stuck in mud.
I am HORRIBLY impatient and roll my eyes, tut or sigh at people who cannot do what is required quickly enough.

SockQueen · 21/08/2020 08:08

Another interrupter here. But with DH is sometimes impossible to avoid as when he gets passionate about something he barely pauses for breath and I can't get a word in otherwise.

I'm also often a tiny bit late, which I know is a deadly sin on MN. I hate it and always try not to be, but something in my plans just doesn't work!
