Hi.

This will sound ridiculous and probably completely impossible.

I’m trying to find a mothercare rabbit from the 80’s
Long story short, my son smuggled mine away on a holiday and it never returned. I’ve never been able to shake the feeling of missing it. It’s been gone 4 years and I’m 33 but can’t find anything close.

I’ve attached the pictures of what I have of it. I’ve tried image searching and everything but I’m probably doing it wrong.

I think the picture with the bear and panda is the same rabbit however it was sold on eBay in 2018. The other pictures are mine. If anyone can find one anywhere I’d honestly owe you forever.

giantangryrooster · 20/08/2020 19:51

Sorry no luck op, I've even tried googeling in Danish and Swedish still no luck.

PinkSnowAndStars · 20/08/2020 20:23

Thanks for trying. Just hope someone out there is better at finding things than I am!

was it pink or brown? In one it looks brown but the other pic pink? Or do you not mind?

I've googled "vintage mothercare bunny" and there's a few similar but nothing exactly the same, not sure if it has to be the exact one?

It's probably a bit late now but did you ever post a public photo on social media detailing place it was lost etc? It has to still be on this earth somewhere 🤷🏼‍♀️😊

TJ17 · 20/08/2020 20:43

Lots of different ones on here

Bin85 · 20/08/2020 20:52

Someone must have one in a loft somewhere?!!

mocha78 · 20/08/2020 20:52

Ah it’s a very cute rabbit. Even if you found one though it wouldn’t be “yours” so probably wouldn’t have the same feelings attached. I lost a precious bracelet a few years ago and thought of replacing it by just buying all the charms from ebay but I knew I wouldn’t have the same feelings about it. Maybe best to enjoy the happy memories you have of the original one and get a totally new stuffed toy from a special holiday for example that can have new memories attached. I know how you are feeling though, it is horrible losing precious things.

PinkSnowAndStars · 20/08/2020 21:25

It was pink. Faded over the years. My Uncle bought it from mothercare for my first Christmas, so would of been January 1987. I don’t even know what it was sold as mother care as.

I know a replacement wouldn’t be quite the same. But i still feel so lost without it. I’m willing to pay whatever if there’s one out there somewhere. I’ve been going through all the ones on Zippy but not found it yet 😫

PinkSnowAndStars · 20/08/2020 22:05

@Standrewsschool

Unfortunately it’s none of those. Thank you for looking though. I appreciate all the help

When your son took it away, did he lose it? What about advertising in the area he went to?

PinkSnowAndStars · 21/08/2020 00:40

This is a better picture.

He lost it in Tenerife. I tried local sites at the time but got nowhere

Sorry I can't help, OP, but I sympathise. I lost a much-loved bunny around 40 years ago, and it still makes me sad to think about it. I cried about it for years and my parents desperately tried to find another one, but to no avail. There was no internet in those days, though. I hope that the power of MN will be able to find you a replacement!

It’s rubbish isn’t it. It still makes me feel tearful now!

My eldest has 4 of his chosen one. But it was easy to find on eBay 😢

Oh no Bear I hope you find one.

flapjackfairy · 21/08/2020 08:47

Stupid question! Would it be easier to take photos to seamstress and get one made? Then it would be as close as you can get!

brightbluegentian · 21/08/2020 08:54

I have the panda in your pictures! Not in quite such good shape though.

Can that be done? I’m tempted!

I am sure it could. Research soft toy makers or dressmaker, etc. Look at those ladies on the Repair Shop on BBC. They can do anything it seems!
No idea how expensive it would be but worth a shot !
