The purpley one, do you know what it is?

We loved it and the neighbours are having new fences put up and the guys doing the fences have damaged it so severely that they've ended up cutting it down and digging out the stump whilst I was out!!

I want to replace it

The fatsia is the green one behind it. The purple one is sambucus night- black elder.

Definitely Sambuca. They grow pretty quickly. Sorry to hear your old one was damaged.

Oh fab, thank you they've actually damaged both but the purple one was the one that's now gone completely.

I hope they're going to pay for it, yours looks quite mature and might cost £100-£200 to replace

They tried telling me it was rotten and full of termites (he showed me one single woodlouse as evidence) and said it was a danger anyway.. so I think that was his way of saying he didn't intend to pay I've asked for the company details and my mugs back from when I made their coffee this morning

Haha yes seaside Dorset DH and I did laugh and funnily enough I just posted their poster on my Instagram stories with a cowboy GIF and lonesome cowboy playing in the background - yeeeeehaw!!

We rent, so I said to them that I needed their company details to pass to the landlord because I'm not having them deducting it from my deposit when we eventually vacate or charging me for their missing tree and then it's up to the landlord what he wants to do, I wasn't rude and didn't mention money - he said "I'm not paying for your rotten tree you can see me in court!!!" comedy gold.

It probably would have grown back nicely for you if they hadn't dug the stump out. 🙄
