Face visor?

Do you think it’s ok for me to wear a face visor whilst shopping in the supermarket, instead of a mask?

I have been & nobody has said a thing.

You can where I am but you have to wear a mask as well.

DaisyDreaming · 19/08/2020 14:12

No, research has shown it doesn’t offer protection like a mask

I don't think so I'm afraid. A visor isn't a substitute for a mask. They protect against splashes etc but do not protect the wearer or others in the same way as a mask. Hairdressers etc were initially advised to just wear a visor but this has now been changed to visor and mask.

Depends on what you think face coverings achieve.
IMO, it ticks the box but is probably fairly useless at protecting other people from the virus if you happen to be carrying it and pretty useless (on its own) at protecting you from someone else's virus. But the research is very scanty.

I thought as much to be honest. The last thing I want to do is to cause offence. It’s just I find masks so uncomfortable to wear.

Not if you are in Scotland, no. A visor is not accepted alone.

I wear a visor rather than face mask. Only place I've been asked to put mask on as well is a hospital in a high risk area. Only problem I have is that it is more clumsy to carry around than a mask .
