How to cook fresh pasta?

Hi I have got some fresh pasta to cook but I haven’t got access to a hob at the moment. Can I cook it in a microwave or an oven and if so how? Tia

Absolutely not. It's better to throw it away than try either of those methods.

Google it......! “Can you cook fresh pasta in microwave”...

Do you have a kettle? (Not suggesting boiling it IN the kettle by the way!)

Boil some water, put in a bowl, add the pasta for 4 mins.

When our hob was broken this was easily solved with a kettle. Fresh pasta in pot, pour in boiling water. Leave for 1 min. Drain and repeat with new hot water until it's cooked enough for you. It doesn't take much to cook.

Thanks for your help I’ll give it a try with the boiling water 😊 have nothing to lose if it doesn’t work out.

I don't see why you can't boil it in the microwave though.

The whole of Italy is crying at these suggestions. Weeping.

omg35 · 19/08/2020 23:26

Italy would understand her need for pasta in the absence of a hob I'm sure 😂

DonnatellaLyman · 19/08/2020 23:30

Camping stove?

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/08/2020 23:31

I'm not sure that would save her from their wrath! 😁

ladybird69 · 20/08/2020 00:08

@MrsTerryPratchett I really don’t want to feel the wrath of all Italians😁but i still want to have my pasta fix. Good thinking about a camping stove I think that I might have one at the back of the garage! 💐

I will allow a camping stove. As long as the water reaches a rolling boil.

Viva l'Italia.

I always find fresh pasta is cooked enough if you just tip boiling water over it, give it a stir then drain it - no actual cooking required (or it goes too soggy for me!).

The older people of Italy will be up in arms that you didn't make the pasta yourself.

I don't see why you can't boil it in the microwave though.

2 methods of cooking at once, the boiling water is fine but microwaving as well will overcook it.
