Has anyone successfully painted their high gloss kitchen cabinets?

Mine are cream but I’d really prefer light grey. I think it’s probably unlikely but just wondering.

Are they high gloss painted wood or plastic coated .
Wood ones can be sanded to a matt finish and psited with cupboard door pain , wilkos fo a small but decent range . I used their duck egg one last year and was happy with the results. ( it has a very high VOC though)
Or if they are plastic you could wrap them ( or get a or if in to do it )
