Mill point road on Amazon prime

I saw Mill Point Road suggested on Amazon Prime video earlier today so I googled it, thought I'd enjoy it and went back to watch it, but it's vanished!

When I looked it up, I couldn't find anything written about it online.

I definitely didn't imagine seeing it there - does anyone know where it disappeared to and has anyone seen it?

I can only find it in book format on Amazon.
I searched Netflix and it's not on there either.

I found a trailer for the film so the film does exist.

I came across the ad on prime too so googled and same as you, couldn’t find it! However, on the ad, Emily Blunt and Susan Sarandon where the actors. Mill Point Road, I’ve established is a book... that’s what the trailer is for. The movie featuring Susan Sarandon and Emily Blunt is actually called irresistible... it’s on prime and says it was realised in 2027 which is obviously a mistake. But there you go.... I hope you see this post as it is obviously a few months later.

EspressoX10 · 12/11/2020 18:53

I'm so intrigued about this too!

The film for the book doesn't exist. The clip above is to advertise the book. I actually took a screen shot of the instagram Story advertising the FILM as I didn't want to forget to read the book (and then watch the film). The film was advertised with Susan Sarandon, Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman, Emily Blunt and Laura Dern. I mean, with so many A -listers you would think that there would be some evidence of this film online and there isn't. I've since checked Amazon and there are some reviews of the book saying that they had bought it based on the fact that there is a film too and have since found this to be untrue.

Anywayyyyyy....so this was complete false advertising - I'm not a complainer but I've actually messaged the author and asked him whether he thinks this kind of false advertising is fair....he probably won't respond but I felt I had to say something.

So, I'm sorry to disappoint, there is no film but there is a book (which I think is self published) but the reviews seem to be OK. I did order the book so I'll read it.

EspressoX10 · 19/11/2020 15:49

Wow. That's pretty bold.

Did you get a reply at all?

EspressoX10 · 19/11/2020 15:50

I meant the author is incredibly bold, not you!

JacobReesMogadishu · 19/11/2020 15:53

So did the author convince these well known actors to do a fake trailer or has he faked a trailer?

Hippywannabe · 19/11/2020 16:15

Flilping heck, I thought it was coming as a film! Disappointed. I have seen it advertised as coning to Prime too.

EspressoX10 · 19/11/2020 18:20

There's no actual trailer.

There's an amature looking video as linked above but not connected to any of the stars.

I saw the author comment on his Facebook page, saying that he identified those actresses as "perfect" for playing the characters he had in mind.

There's no film. Really brazen scam though.

Womencanlift · 20/11/2020 08:30

Found this thread as I searched for the film. It came up as an advert in my Instagram stories and I thought it would be ideal Friday night viewing. What a con (although great idea from an advertising perspective). Surely the actresses won’t be happy with this?

micmad · 20/11/2020 13:38

No response from the Author, but I didn't expect one to be honest. I agree that it's good from an advertising perspective too, just a shame it's total BS. I think I might just send the book back in protest. Who knows. I don't even want to read it any more. @JacobReesMogadishu he definitely faked the trailer (not even a trailer, just a poster). He uses an image of another famous actress (Natalie Dormer) to advertise one of his other books.
I suppose being a self published author is hard work - gotta get creative sometimes.

KAlane21 · 25/11/2020 15:14

I’m so confused . If there is no film, why are actors on the cover advertising it ?

colbymoose · 10/01/2021 16:48

I just seen the advertisement for the movie Mill Point Road for Amazon Prime. I went to Prime and its not there. So I googled it and ONLY thing I found was this conversation! So I live chatted with someone on Amazon because clearly somethings not right! Well he did CONFIRM there is a movie but its not available yet. Ignore the advertisements and keep check Prime for it. Hope this helps everyone and hope you are all doing ok during this insane time! xo
