I lie in bed kicking DH until he makes me a cuppa and then I lie in bed telling the kids to get dressed ... watching DH fartarse about, then as soon as everyone is out of my way I get in the shower and I’m ready to leave the house in ten minutes.

Currently:
Get up at 7am
Work out for about half an hour (e.g. Joe Wicks or something on YouTube)
Give kids breakfast/pack school bags

In shower at 8am
Either start work 8:30 or take kids to school and start at 9:30 (alternate with DH)

TooMinty · 17/08/2020 21:35

Have to have 2 glasses of water and 2 cups of tea during that time too!

ThatDamnScientist · 17/08/2020 21:42

Prior to lockdown, up at 7 with dd2. Got us both breakfast, drank endless cups of coffee, got us both dressed, out of the house at 8.20.

Currently, wake up whenever dd2 wakes, get us both drinks, set up her tablet (kindle fire kid, so safe) play on my phone and doze, until.8.30/9.30 - in my defense she is awake half the night (additional needs).

September, when school goes back. Same routine as prior to lockdown except up at 6.00 and out by 7.30 latest (I think assuming school will start at same time as it did, but haven't heard anything from school yet).

5:30 2 year old ds wakes up. Nappy change and we head downstairs as soon as I've made the bed. I open curtains as I go.

He watches tv / plays while I put away anything on the draining board and put any washing on the line if need be.
I drink a cup of hot water and lemon.
If it's nappy wash day (every other day) I put on a load of cloth nappies and wipes

6am breakfast (ds and I eat together) then I clean the sink then wash up. Fill water bottles

6:45 cup of tea on sofa while ds entertains himself! Essential!

7am upstairs for brushing teeth & washing our faces

7:15 downstairs - more c bee bies / toys! I get us both dressed then brush our hair then he watches tv while I finish getting ready.

7:30 - 8 faffing / pottering

8am more washing on the line (nappies I put on to wash if nappy wash day or the lights or darks I'd have washed in the morning if not nappy wash day).

Leave the house between 8:30 and 9.

Routine varies if my fiancé is at home and I can be out the door much quicker if need be. Smile

Wake up when I wake up, normally between six thirty and seven. Get up and go for a run or to gym. Shower, clean bathroom and eat breakfast.

Lazysundayafternoons · 17/08/2020 21:57

Wake up whenever the baby wakes up (between 6 and 7).
Make a bottle for the baby and drown my sorrows in coffee until I log on to work at 7.30

YorkieTheRabbit · 17/08/2020 22:25

Depending on what time I wake up, read news on my phone, check emails. Take dogs into the garden, take them back upstairs to bed with DP, make coffee, switch dishwasher on, take coffee to bed. Read a bit more, finish coffee, get up, washed teeth brushed etc and get dressed Smile

AnneBullen · 17/08/2020 22:29

I have the cushiest morning routine ever....
Lie in bed, asleep, until DH brings me a cup of tea at 0830.
Drink it and surf internet until 915
Shower and dress
Wander downstairs for more tea and toast
In meantime children have been given breakfast, washed and dressed and are watching TV. Then once I’ve had my breakfast and had a mooch around tidying up, we get on with our plans for the day.
(Roles are reversed on the day i work)

Raella50 · 17/08/2020 22:44

Up at 6.20, glass of water and workout/ yoga in the lounge. 6.45 quick shower and dressed, speedy makeup and hair. 7.05 DH is up making breakfast for the youngest. I grab a coffee and either off to work at 7.15 or on non-work days, snuggle up for an hour of morning TV with youngest until everyone else is awake. Everyone dressed and out of the house by 9am, even just for a stroll with the dog.

Pipandmum · 17/08/2020 22:50

Currently it's set alarm for 7.45, get up let dogs out feed rabbits. Make sure son is up for work. Have shower and breakfast, perhaps make son protein shake and lunch. Hassle him to get a move on. Take him to work, walk dogs on way back. Normally he rides his motorbike but it's in the shop. Start work.
Come September my daughter will be back at school so add that to the mix.

Gilead · 17/08/2020 22:56

I’m retired, you’d just be jealous! 😆

onemouseplace · 17/08/2020 23:00

Currently - kids get up and amuse themselves* from about onwards. DH and I wake up around 730/8 - DH gets up and makes tea and starts work around 830 and I drink tea and read the paper in bed until I feel like getting up.

This will all change when schools are back.

*glued to screens,

HoldMyLobster · 18/08/2020 00:25

I deny the existence of reality until work calls so loudly I can no longer ignore it.

sugagi · 18/08/2020 10:29

i'm jealous of some of you! (and some.. i relate heavily to! Wink)
