If money and time to travel etc were no issue, what trips would you love to take?

I'd do an NHL ice hockey tour of the USA and Canada seeing games in as many arenas as I could.

New Zealand, on the whole. I'd just love to go there!

Or Stockholm, the sleeper train to Malmo, then cross to Copenhagen. That's one I can dream about maybe achieving one day!

South America, finishing with a cruise to Antarctica via the Falklands. Unfortunately I don't have a spare £30k or 6 weeks

Xmasfairy86 · 16/08/2020 14:40

Is the orient express still a thing? Always wanted to do that.

Drive across America.

Canadian rockies.

Maybe an actual ‘around the world’ type thing.

OilBaron · 16/08/2020 14:47

Country-hop my way through Europe, the Caucuses, and Asia (mainly city-stops) all the way over to Kiribati where I'd spend two weeks on a deserted beach reading books, drinking cocktails, swimming in the clear seas, and eating my body weight in food.

Then over to Hawaii for about 5 days flitting between sightseeing and beach-lounging, then to south America for couple of weeks to travel through various countries and see some rain forest. Then over to central Africa for three months volunteering with an animal charity.

Then straight home on a private plane.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/08/2020 15:12

I have a few.

French Polynesia - a few days each in Bora Bora, Tahiti and Moorea with a stopover in San Francisco on the way.

A month travelling Japan.

2 months travelling Australia.

Island hopping in Hawaii.

A month travelling Italy.

I need a lot more money than I've actually got Grin

Usernamealreadyexists · 16/08/2020 15:54

3 months in Japan island hopping. Covid killed my Japan trip this year.
North Pakistan to China border.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 16/08/2020 16:25

Machu pichu
Galapogas

Mirrorxx · 16/08/2020 16:28

Mine would be a tour of Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi

HeronLanyon · 16/08/2020 16:30

The latest ‘race across the world’ (Was that the title? It straddled start of March lockdown which seems so so long ago) really reallynwhetted my appetite for South America. I think I’d have to do it rather money intensive as slightly older (not interested in backpacking/buses really any more) and want to be safe.
Also Egypt and Middle East countries which I have been to but want to revisit but so dangerous right now.
Yachting in Thailand. Below Deck series in Thailand And also Tahiti series away from major tourist areas were both staggeringly beautiful.

Ikeameatballs · 16/08/2020 16:41

California (Covid cancelled this for this year)

Amalfi coast eating pizza and ice-cream every day washed down with wine!

North coast 500

Luxury safari

BearSoFair · 16/08/2020 16:51

Ooh yes to Hawaii too. I know a guy from there who moved back a few years ago, still have him on FB and every time he posts a photo I'm a bit jealous!

For some reason The Bahamas really appeals. The beach/beaches look incredible....my idea of paradise. I would love to go there for a truly romantic and dreamy holiday.

North Devon for 4 nights at the end of the month with all the kids is my reality Grin

VanillaSpiceCandle · 16/08/2020 17:25

Definitely a cruise from Argentina to Antarctica. It’s eye wateringly expensive so it a proper dream holiday. Maybe one day!

SilverOtter · 16/08/2020 17:45

Canada/North USA

Atalune · 16/08/2020 17:47

Canada. I’ve always wanted to go, and never got the chance.

Grumpbum123 · 16/08/2020 17:49

With kids- Disney
Without kids- Hawaii, Canada, New Zealand, back to Australia, Maldives and Bahamas
Shame I married a sun hating home bod

isseywith4vampirecats · 16/08/2020 17:53

route 66 on a huge american motorbike folowed by some time in las vegas, hollywood and san francisco, then as it would be the beginning of august over to south dakota to do sturgis bike rally, then on a plane to canada to see the rockies

PaternosterLoft · 16/08/2020 17:55

I've watched Amazing Hotels so I'd have a stop over in Singapore, some time in Tahiti and Bora Bora, Iceland in a volcanic spa pool in the dark watching the Northern Lights overhead.

PollyPelargonium52 · 16/08/2020 17:55

The Silk Road appeals. I have already visited Istanbul as I lived there for one year but I would like to explore the rest. Always looks so interesting on travel programmes.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/08/2020 17:58

@turtledovelove I'm going to the Bahamas early next year (Covid dependent), I'll let you know what it's like if I make it Grin

Areyouquitesure · 16/08/2020 18:00

Can't imagine wanting to go anywhere again

I appear to have become stuck to my chair and Netflix since the bloody virus Grin

TravellingSpoon · 16/08/2020 18:02

Would spend a few weeks exploring Canada.

MummaGiles · 16/08/2020 18:10

Rocky Mountain Railroad

West coast of US taking in big sur and Monterey bay especially, timing it with the annual convergence of sea mammals

Argentina

Travelling around Australia and visiting my cousin in NZ

The Italian Lakes (was meant to go a few years ago but cancelled as a member of our party was rushed to hospital the day we were due to travel)

Croatian Riviera

Dubai and Vegas are both in the “would like to see what they’re like” camp rather than really wanting to go

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 16/08/2020 18:22

Travel Europe. Paying particular attention to Prague, Venice, Almalfi Coast, Rome, Vienna for the New Years Day concert (although that's luck in the ticket draw not money) and do a Sound of Music tour! Finnish Lapland to see the lights, go sledding and stay in an ice hotel. Go on the Orient Express, take DD to Disneyland. Spend dinner and a night at the hotel at the Shard in London and do a bunch of sightseeing there too. That'll do me Grin

turtledovelove · 16/08/2020 18:52

Oh wow! You lucky devil you.

Envy this is most definitely a face of envy!! Grin

Graphista · 16/08/2020 19:11

Think you need to include health as a disclaimer too op

If I had money, time and was in much better health I'd live to visit/travel to:

New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, California, New York, Mexico, peru, the Caribbean, India, Thailand, vietnam, Cambodia, China, Russia, Iceland...

Tons of places

However I'm housebound several years now due to agoraphobia and have other health issues too...but yes its nice to dream!
