Loud Army Style Bootcamp outside my flat

Hi. I live opposite a field that's surrounded by houses / flats in an urban area. Every Sunday morning at 8am about 10 blokes turn up and shout aggressive instructions while playing loud music. Really loud! Is there anything that can be done? I dread the weekend now.

It's not just the music but the male aggressive shouting is unnerving and upsetting.

Thank you.

Can you find out who owns the field and if they have permission to be using it for a business (assuming it's one) or their hobby?

magicmallow · 16/08/2020 11:45

get a couple of neighbours together and write a letter to whoever runs the club.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 16/08/2020 11:47

Shout at them out of the window to shut up.

dontrecycle · 16/08/2020 11:47

Hi thanks for the reply. It's a council owned field.

I don't think it's a regulated club just an intimidating bloke.

I am an anxious person so can't confront them.

It’s probably a fitness class/boot camp. They are all the range at the moment in do it in our local park as well. What is so intimidating about them? They are not shouting at you directly it’s a way of motivating the people taking part.

Meganplays · 16/08/2020 11:55

Can you ask on your local Facebook group?

Smallsteps88 · 16/08/2020 11:56

Contact the council and report it as a noise disturbance.

EasilyDelighted · 16/08/2020 11:57

Try contacting the council. It might have byelaws about what can and cannot happen in their open spaces. I can see why it would be intimidating and loud music at 8am on a Sunday in a residential area is antisocial.

dontrecycle · 16/08/2020 11:57

It is unpleasant to listen to as the loud shouting sounds like an hours argument.

What kind of person thinks that shouting and playing loud music in what is essentially a residential area is acceptable at that time?

I live beside a council owned field and there are lots of different exercise groups using it. The only ones that appear to need to shout are the Male football clubs.

itchyfinger · 16/08/2020 11:58

They would need a license to run a business on there, check with the council

SecondStarFromTheRight · 16/08/2020 11:59

If you can find out who the business is online maybe you could email them or send a Facebook message asking them to be a bit more aware of residents as a first step.

SmileTolerantly · 16/08/2020 11:59

Write to the council and record it. 8am on a Sunday is out of order.

ScrapThatThen · 16/08/2020 11:59

Sounds like an issue for your local ward councillor

dontrecycle · 16/08/2020 11:59

I'll try the anti social behaviour route with the council. I don't want to be the person identified as complaining so can't put it on Facebook.

Thanks everyone

And google Boot Camp “name of field” Sunday to find who it is.
