Hi,

Suffered a loss 3 months ago now and have been so upset since.

I'm 40 and worried about mva affecting my chances of conceiving again and as I'm 40 I'm also worried about my age, please only tell me the good stories, thanks

I had the same happen to me at the same age - I got pregnant the next circle.

I had an MVA back in October. I’m now 22 weeks pregnant and 39 years old. After the surgery I had very light periods and worried that the surgery had impacted my chances of an egg successfully implanting. I went for a scan to check my lining and they said it was fine, I was just having very light periods for some reason (like a day long and only brown blood). The next cycle after my scan I had my BFP. I think it was the 5th cycle after the miscarriage.

Another success story here... the MVA ought not to impact your ability to get pregnant.

Success story here - 36 and pregnant the second month after surgery. Although my cycle was a bit irregular so had to guess dates and was probably lucky it was so soon

Good luck Flowers

I have a 4 yo daughter after my MVA. I had 3 miscarriages after my 3rd was when l had the MVA a midwife told me it was the wiser option if l wanted to try again (tbh l had it because l needed it, my 3rd miscarriage was very traumatic). My dd was born 8 weeks before my 40th birthday.

Good luck and start taking the folic acid now just incase.

I had a surgical miscarriage and fell pregnant again before I got my first period post-surgery. She's seven now :)

Flowers I had an ERPC and got pg with DC1 a few months later. Dc2 followed after that.

Stress won't affect your likelihood of conceiving at all but I know how shit and stressful you will feel. Xxx

LBOCS2 · 25/08/2020 10:00

Other than the stress from the miscarriage, no.

On the other hand, I was exceptionally stressed when I conceived DD2 (my mum had recently died, work was making me ill with stress) and the pregnancy went an incredibly smoothly.

Sef89 · 25/08/2020 12:43

Oh really? That's reassuringly I'm getting stressed over the stress, everyone keeps telling you to relax, which is really annoying tbh as it makes me worry more x

Just also hoping for anyone over 40 to jump in with success stories, I've become so paronoid with stats despite reassurance from gynaecologists that thus isn't an issue, I can't help fixating on the stats

Hi anymore over 40's please I'm so panicked about the stats about age
