I'm having my usual cuppa, in the kitchen. The neighbours are already out in their garden though so it's not as peaceful as usual so the washer's on.

We're off for a walk into town shortly-ish for tights and a scientific calculator for dd1, for school. I think we might nip to the sweetie stall in the market too, and probably Home Bargains.

When we get back, I need to empty the last of the water from the paddling pool and mop the bottom (it went green Blush ). Then pack it away for now. Hopefully the rain will hold off long enough to mow the grass.

Later on, dd1 will probably watch more Vampire Diaries (she's on season 3 I think), and dd2 will most likely Minecraft online with her friends. I plan to finish off my latest sewing project - I only need to do 2 button holes but have been putting them off because I need to do them by hand (lost my machine foot )

I'm not sure what's for tea tonight yet - we ate out last night at a new, very local, place, and I'm stuck in a bit of a rut food-wise so everyone's a bit bored of picking tea. I need inspiration for something tasty!

What about you lot? :)

I’m just having a coffee then I’m going for a walk.
I’ve got some work to do this afternoon but I’ll take the dcs out for a bit to the park just for some fresh air and exercise.
Dinner will be chicken burgers and chips. We have no buns so the dcs job will be to make bread dough this afternoon and bake buns.
Then it’s just screen time and a film after dinner.

CatBatCat · 15/08/2020 10:03

I've had a big breakfast and we're just finishing a pot of tea then I'm going into town to pick up some sewing bits. I might have a look in the charity shops if they're open. I want to pick some blackberries this weekend as they're ripening near me so might take a ride down to the river to fill a few tubs.

The house needs a bit of a tidy and swish of the hoover and then a cosy night in front of a film is in order I think.

I love these threads Smile
We overslept - usually get up at 6 in the summer. Today it was 8:30.
DH is doing the weekly shop and I cleaned the kitchen. The DC (more or less adults) are still asleep. DS is exhausted from his first week of school, he prefered online.

I am googling ideas for bee friendly plants that flower in September / October. DH plans on making hummus and taboulé.
Apart from that nothing much - DH has work to do and I've an FL course to finish.
It's supposed to turn 33 °C today.

MrsBooks · 15/08/2020 10:20

I'm still in bed, having a coffee and watching some TV on my tablet. DS1 is still asleep, DS2 is downstairs having his breakfast. Not much planned for today, we'll do a dog walk this afternoon as it's so much cooler now than earlier in the week where we were only going out late evening. Bangers and mash for tea and I'm looking forward to it already 😂

CormoranStrike · 15/08/2020 10:23

I’m going shopping for fabric to make a baby quilt then going for a bike ride

Lazysundayafternoons · 15/08/2020 10:27

I'm doing similar to you today OP Smile
Have just emptied out the paddling pool, am doing a bit of a tidy up of the garden and were putting gates at the two ends of the decking today so the baby cant escape/get into trouble, he'll have a nice safe area but with fresh air.
In a bit I'll be going to town to get the last of ds school stuff - pencils, shoes and a coat.
Will be watching the f1 qualifying at 2.
My sister is visiting with her kids at laterso will also have to get some food shopping when I'm in town.
Not sure what we'll do for dinner tonight but will try to do something healthy.

Thanks for the thread @lucysmam Smile

DH and I are still in bed on an extremely rare child-free day! But I’ve just finished my coffee so that will drive me out of bed for more pretty soon.

We need to finish putting together furniture in DS’s room. Sort out some old toys we’re selling/donating, while the DC aren’t around to decide that the Happyland that they’d forgotten existed & has been in the attic for ages, is actually their most favourite thing ever. Probably ought to go to the allotment, that’s been a bit neglected lately. I have a million jobs to potter about and get on with.

Also hoping that if I offer to make sangria later that I can persuade DH to go with the theme and cook paella for dinner Grin

Valkadin · 15/08/2020 11:25

DH and DS are picking up fence posts and will continue to build new patio area. Will be picking out screening for patio, I favour bamboo currently. Have done laundry and kitchen already. Am currently on my games console in a group chat with clan mates.

Will go out for a walk later with DH and watch a couple of episodes of Jack Ryan and cook dinner. Also having a long chat to sis on phone later.

GoshHashana · 15/08/2020 11:33

DH and I slept in, and then had breakfast outside. Making the most of the chance to do this, as the baby is due any day!

On sofa now, reading, which is where I'll probably stay all day.

LynnThese4reSEXPEOPLE · 15/08/2020 11:35

Wandering around a wet playing field with the baby on my back while DH does rugbytots with DS1. Might investigate reopened Soft play this afternoon

willowmelangell · 15/08/2020 11:36

I've just had brunch. Homegrown cherry and baby plum tomatoes on wholemeal and marmite toast. Delicious. I would have had it for breakfast but shy cat was sleeping with her head on my ankleGrin
Heroes(S3) is on in the background while I catch up with MN.
Later I will have a bath and get ready for work.

I will be putting a bolognaise in the slow cooker for when I get back.
I hope you all have a lovely day.

RosieLemonade · 15/08/2020 11:37

DD and DH are visiting grandparents after her dance lessons. She’s so thrilled to be dancing again and it’s super cute to see her back in her uniform.
Not sure about the middle of the day but it’s not often DH is home and we aren’t doing something with someone so might just have a relaxed one as the weather isn’t great.
Then late afternoon I’m going into our local city with my sister to go the our favourite restaurant for the first time since lockdown. It will be great to be in purely adult company.

iklboo · 15/08/2020 11:39

Waiting for DH to come back from the gym then we're going food shopping. Later we're going to walk down to the local pop up market for cake and a nice cold pint. Curry for tea later, mojitos and Doom Patrol / Umbrella Academy.

Sarahlou63 · 15/08/2020 11:42

My morning off from doing the horses so slept in till 7.30. Went to the doctor as one of my breasts feels 'wrong' - quick exam and a script for a mammogram and ectogram ASAP. Spent the last hour calming DP down!

Off to lunch at a local cafe soon for only the second time since early March. Will sleep in the hammock for the rest of the afternoon. Tonight we'll tackle the Times jumbo crossword (Saturday ritual) and watch a couple of episodes of Succession.

purpleme12 · 15/08/2020 11:42

Just trying to get out of bed

DeathMetalMum · 15/08/2020 11:44

We have had a relaxed morning. I have worked extra this week and have been very busy. I have started a lego project with DD's. Trying to gather some of the many sets that have been mixed up with each other, it's going to take some time!

Dp is heading out to meet a work colleague who is leaving the country soon this afternoon, and we will head out to the local park so burn off a bit of energy. I'm making chicken curry for dinner. This evening dp & I will watch a few episodes of the Punisher which we are watching on Netflix.

DangerMouse17 · 15/08/2020 11:45

Got up and did some exercise at about 9am. So sweaty! Then cleaned kitchen, lounge, put on laundry. DS was up at 10am as he's all out of synch sleep wise...will need to sort that before he goes back to school in a few weeks Confused

I've just had a shower while ds does a zoom breakdance class. Then I need to hang up his new bedroom curtains, go out for a walk. Ds will prob game for a few hours, while I potter around or read.

Bavette steak tonight!

MinnieMountain · 15/08/2020 11:47

DS had his Saturday Minecraft marathon whilst I read my news magazine. We're now at the local country park for as long as he wants.

DH is out cycling with a friend all day.

It's steak and chip shop chips for supper. We'll let DS stay up a bit.

Tomorrow we're packing for our 2 week holiday. We leave a week today. I expect we'll have a film in the afternoon.

curly100 · 15/08/2020 11:52

I had a slow start after being awake in the night. I've just cut my nails (exciting - not!) and am about to go for the food shop. I also feel that I'm in a rut foodwise - keep hoping that the little local supermarket will have something new and exciting but will no doubt end up with the same old same old.

No idea for the rest of the day, might go for a walk but it's pretty overcast and uninspiring. There's always work to catch up but that's even less inspiring!

SingingWaffleDoggy · 15/08/2020 11:54

DD woke early this morning (despite me not be able to sleep until 2am) and has been bouncing off the walls so is currently sat in front of Ben & Holly for 5 minutes while I should be doing the mountain of housework but am actually surfing MN.
People say these are the best years of your life, and I can’t imagine loving anything more than my DD, but blimey it’s hard when you’re in the thick of it!
So my plans for today consist of trying to tick some things off my ever growing to do list and napping when the toddler does. I have no idea about lunch let alone tea 🤷‍♀️

I'm at the hair salon..... first time since Feb. Super exciting to have some professional input - as I've been doing my own roots and snipping randomly at my fringe for months.....
Nice too to see how the salon owner is so happy to be back in business.
