Anyone switched from Apple to Android?

Or the other way around, but I'm most interested in the former.

What did you like and dislike about it? Would you recommend it?

Always had Apple phone, but I'm thinking of switching to Android. I do have a Samsung tablet which I don't like very much, but I don't use very often so I think I'm just not that used to it.

The main reason for switching in my head are

  1. Cost
  2. Battery life
  3. Memory
  4. Photos on Samsung phones seem to be much brighter? I'd like that
  5. On my iPhone, I use gmail, chrome, google maps... so all of the google apps!

I'm quite nervous though, everyone seems to think that Android phones are oh so hard to use, which doesn't scare me, but I wonder if it would bug me?

I am so happy I switched from Apple to Samsung. The "S" models are the best. My phone is 4 years old and still going.

  1. Great battery life, only just starting to lose it a bit so may get a new one in the next year or so.
  2. You can use memory cards so you never need to delete pics
  3. So much easier if you have a Windows laptop.
  4. Cost
  5. Camera imo is much better
  6. I've never got a bug, my iPhone started to die after 2 years.
  7. Very durable, 2 yo is always throwing it Hmm
  8. Getting a new charger or ear phones much cheaper.

I would say it is easy to use too

I had a Samsung tablet and an iPhone at the same time. I hated the tablet, still do actually!
I swapped to Android for my phone last upgrade which was about 3 years ago, and went with a Samsung Galaxy, and I love it. I'd never go back, and touch wood, my phone is still going strong and I've not had to upgrade it yet.

I always used to have iPhones, but I got a Samsung a few years back and replaced that with a Google phone. A lot is personal preference really, I prefer Android now as I like that you can add memory cards to most models, you can customise more of the display ie the themes, don't tend to mysteriously stop holding their charge after a few years, reliable, and the photo quality is incredible. That said, some prefer the usability of an iPhone and like how it links to iPads, macbooks etc if you have them. It can take some getting used to, but I wouldn't get an iPhone again, unless I won one or it was free hah.
