How is Horsney - Church lane area?

My partner and I are exploring properties to move to. We came across a flat in Church Lane area. We currently live in Angel but we were thinking of moving to a bigger house to allow us to start a family. Is this a safe area? Is it good for raising a child here?

Hornsea is nice, you’ve got ally pally up the hill too
Great railway tavern is a smasher of a pub
Transport is a bit meh. Bus to Turnpike Lane for Piccadilly tube or Hornsey train station, trains to old street,Moorgate via FinnPark Precovid that was a really busy station.

I see you’re LB Islington, Hornsea is Haringay

Schools are over subscribed, sharp elbowed pushy parents and some god bothering to get into schools

Hornsey is a great area, plenty going on for young families. Not sure about church lane area though as that’s a busy road which cars bomb down.

Not sure what sentient means but sharp elbowed pushy parents mean - the catchment areas for schools are small so it’s best to check on the Haringey council website if you have a particular school in mind but all the schools are lovely.

You may wish to look in the area at the bottom of ally pally - north view road etc, lots of lovely homes there.

I mean as with all north London there are pushy sharp elbow types who’ll do anything to secure school place they want
Inc god bothering

There have been quite a few issues around Turnpike Lane/Wood Green lately with gangs.

Crouch End solid as always.

Have you checked out exactly which school you’d get in to from there? Catchment areas are small and you need to nail it down.

Haringey has a list of schools and the furthered distance place offered each year, although that is first found offers rather than the waiting list.

It’s London you’re kids will need street smarts. True of all London
Turnpike Lane , Wood Green have had gang related crimes. Bit lively at night
Hornsea cheaper still than crouchy

Schools v small catchment and oversubscribed
