Loved guitar hero
Loved the Olympic Games.

Is wii still going or has something replaced it?

DH just asked me what I want for Xmas.

Teenage DD and I dusted ours off for some exercise in Lockdown.
I can't think of anything that would be as good as Just dance and Wii Fit.

There is a Nintendo switch now.

nancybotwinbloom · 12/08/2020 22:43

Can you get guitar hero and the fitness games on the switch?

I need a wireless version of the wii.

Does it even exist?

The wii u is that, kind of. Replaced by the switch. Both are played either on a handset or on a screen.

There is a fitness game for the Switch (RingFit adventure). I don’t have it, so don’t know how good it is.

I have a switch and a still have a Wii plugged in.

Dc love the switch for flashy graphics, and the cachet of having (for once!) the cool up-to-date gadget. It is great fun.

All of us also have lots of fun on the Wii still. Love wiifit, and sports (tennis in particular is a great hit and lots of fun when we all play). Huge bonus obviously is that is is very cheap to pick up ‘new’ games. Eg I just got Mario and Sonic Olympics for £5.

Both get lots of use in this house. Switch obviously has better graphics and faster paced games, but that isn’t always everything - my eldest (has learning disabilities) much prefers the Wii because of the slower pace, and bigger (and simpler) controller. She can join in with Mario kart on the Wii, but not on the switch.

I will be honest

I'm bothered most about the guitar hero and the Olympics

I'm not bothered about the graphics.

It's for me not the kids 😂

Does a wii u need a hdmi?

I don’t think there is anything like Guitar hero for the Switch. There is a quite odd, but strangely compulsive, Japanese drumming game which, now I come to think of it, I haven’t played for ages - must remedy that tomorrow Grin

Mario and Sonic olympics (Tokyo) has been release for the Switch, but despite much begging from the dc I haven’t yet bought it.

I don’t know about Wii U connectivity - the manuals must be online though. The Switch does need hdmi (unsurprisingly)

We still have our Wii. I absolutely loved the Cardio Fit game. I thought I'd lost it when we moved house, thankfully I found it. I looked online & it's very expensive to replace! After we'd moved, before we got a TV aerial or broadband set up (it's a new build), DH & I mostly played Mario Karts in the evenings. So glad I insisted we didn't bury it in storage!

Get a Nintendo Switch.

thegrumpydinosaur · 12/08/2020 23:22

I don't think Guitar Hero is made anymore.

We recently bought a second-hand Wii and guitar hero controller on eBay for DD to use during lockdown. Think everyone else had the same idea as the prices were pretty high (for old stuff) when we bought. Wii games are really cheap on eBay though (once you've got the console).
