First periods, how often?

My 10 almost 11 year old had her first period two weeks ago but it seems to have returned again already.

I knew periods could be irregular at first but I thought that maybe meant it was more than a month between not getting them twice in a fortnight.

Can someone reassure me this is ok? We have the doctor on Friday about a different thing so can ask them then but I’d love to reassure her this is ok before then. Thanks.

My daughters came a couple if weeks after her first. She was 10 too. Then didn't get another for 3 months. So perfectly normal I think. She has had them for 8 months now and still not regular

My daughter is due to start soon, I think, so I've been looking this up online today. I read that it could be anything from a week break to many many weeks between - it can be that irregular, which sounds like a complete pita.

Irregular can mean they are closer together sometimes and further apart at other times. It's normal, her body just needs to find its cycle and it'll settle down. I remember this happening to my friends at school whereas when i started i was regular from the go but mine varied during adulthood.
