I know there's an IT forum, but I thought I might get answers more quickly here.

Having a frustrating time in a Microsoft Teams meeting because everyone else can contribute by raising a hand, but my system just doesn't show that. Following suggestions when I raised the issue in the Chat facility, I tried moving to a Microsoft computer, installing Microsoft Edge etc, but it makes no difference. Does anyone know what the remedy is? I don't have this problem with things like Zoom.

Are you logging in as a guest? We use it for work (NHS) and we all have Microsoft logins, but when we invite external attendees, they log in via Internet explorer and don't have the same functions as us.
We ask guests to use the chat box to type in questions or say they want to come in which works well. If you've got less than 9 people you don't need to do that as you can see everyone anyway, so it's just like a normal conversation - sometimes you need a good chair though!
